Herb & Wood

An icon in San Diego, Chef Brian Malarkey’s Herb & Wood’s is timeless yet approachable, focusing on rustic, wood-fired dishes, celebrating humble ingredients such as carrots, beets, and chicken, and incorporating Mediterranean flavors with a California ethos of seasonality and sustainability.

Designed by Chris Puffer, our interior invites guests in with an almost European charm while somehow feeling perfectly at home in Southern California. An eclectic study of contrasts, our space evokes the dual persona of the Gilded Age: lavish sophistication set against industrial simplicity.

Animae

ANIMAE is Brian Malarkey’s opulent take on a West Coast steakhouse, featuring Japan’s finest A5 wagyu beef, and layered with Asian influences.

The design pulls inspiration from the stunning, modern architecture of BOSA’s Pacific Gate Tower that sits atop our restaurant. The dining room is a futurists interpretation of Art Deco design, suspending time and space, setting the stage for dining, as theater.

The menu is centered around our Josper coal-fired oven and Japanese robata grill, utilizing globally-sourced ingredients to complement the sophisticated, stylish experience that compels guests to dawn their finest fashion, pull up their Instagram, and strike a pose in the elegance of the room.

Herb & Sea

Blending classic East Coast culinary traditions with a modern Californian sensibility, Herb & Sea is our ode to the neighborhood institution. The space mirrors our staff’s warm and welcoming hospitality, its art deco elements matched with vestiges reminiscent of grandma’s home in East Hampton.

Executive Chef Sara Harris’ menu showcases the familiar and the bold - raw bar offerings, fresh seafood, approachable classics such as pizza and pasta, and roasted vegetables. The wine and spirits program is bright and playful, while the wine list highlights crowd-pleasing California labels.

Herb & Ranch

Located at the Irvine Company’s UCI Research Park Campus , Herb & Ranch looks like a traditional food hall but operates like a fast-casual restaurant where diners order from the concept of their choice and pay at a central register.

Blending a contemporary farmhouse design with a light and breezy Southern California vibe, Herb & Ranch features a wide-variety of options and a constantly changing menu.

Current concepts inside Herb & Ranch include The Grill Breakfast & Coffee Bar, The Farmhouse, The Press, a poke station dubbed Mahalo and Greens & Grains.
